MiL sent this newspaper clipping from the Buxton Advertiser today. The picture is of my Dad and his school friends in 1953 outside the same school I went to ~ Long Lane, Chapel-en-le-Frith. The text reads ... Pictured left are the pupils of Chapel Secondary Modern School, Long Lane - assembled for a school photograph in 1953. These young people were all aged 13 years at the time and came from Chapel and neighbouring villages Chinley and Buxworth. My Dad is on the 2nd row from the front and the 2nd boy in from the left.
