Saturday 17th March

Breakfast as usual. Found a small 'Spar' type supermarket on one of the side streets and bought bottles of water & cartons of fruit juice. Went to the beach and Andrew & Elena decided to venture in to the sea to try their hand at snorkeling. They came out about half an hour later telling me about all the fish they'd seen including a blue Ray. It was too cold to go back into the sea as the wind had got up again so went back and spent the afternoon by the pool. When we got back to the room the cleaners (all men) had decorated our beds again with fresh flowers and made Elena a swan out of a beach towel.
Hard Rock Cafe for tea which was cool although some of the music wasn't to our taste. Sam the waiter took a shine to Elena bringing her a HRC flag & cocktail stirrer as souvenirs. Half way through our meal the music stopped and another record was put on, all the waiters cheered, stopped what they were doing and gathered on the dance floor to dance to a catchy song I hadn't heard before and did a dance like the Macarena (?sp), everyone cheered and clapped and then it all went back to normal. Half an hour later the same thing happened again but this time they danced to the YMCA ~ brilliant. The place was buzzing, what an atmosphere.
