I've just found this on Youtube :O) It's a folk group called the Fivepenny Piece. They come from Ashton under Lyne in Lancashire which is about 20 miles from where I was born & bred just over the border in Derbyshire. I love this group and grew up with their songs. When I was about 14 I used to baby sit for a friend of my dad's and he gave me a cassette tape of them. I played it so much you can't hear anything on it any more. Last year I managed to buy one of their LP's from good old Ebay and, not having a record player of my own anymore asked a friend to copy it to tape. I told Elena all about it & she loves it. I have to translate some of the words for her because she doesn't speak 'Northern' like what I do ~ lol! Just in case you don't know either, Ee by gum bur'em cowd translates into ~ Flipping heck I am cold :O)
