We received an e-mail this morning from SimplyRed.com. We LOVE Simply Red we do :O) We have all Mick's albums apart from the latest one, Stay, which Andrew has asked Father Christmas for :O) A couple of years ago we actually went to see him in concert at Beaulieu. It was a first for both of us as we had never been to a concert before. It wasn't quite what we were expecting. It was an outdoor event so we stood in the same spot for about 5 hours (all I'm going to say is ouch!) surrounded by the green welly brigade drinking pimms! Not really our scene but hey, we had paid to see Mick and that's all that matters. We stood there listening to some woman singing (I use the term very loosely) who was just dreadful. Then at 9pm, Mick & the band came on stage and it made me tingle from head to foot. We knew all the words to the songs and I sang along not even caring about the funny looks I was getting from some of the snobs around me. He was just brilliant & I loved every minute of it. It seemed as if the 2 hours flew by in 5 minutes. We were so close to the front that we could see the buttons on his shirt. Now I'm not saying he is the best looking bloke on this earth but boy, can he sing! Which brings me round to the e-mail this morning.
