It's All Relative :O)

Such a lot has happened today in a relatively short space of time. Went food shopping this morning, just got back home when the phone rang. I've been expecting a call from my Auntie Joan as they are going back home tomorrow but this man's voice said, "Hello, I bet you don't know who this is?" Of course I knew straight away who it was, Uncle John, my Auntie Jill's husband! Auntie Jill is another of my Dad's sisters so my Auntie did call today but not the one I was expecting lol. They spent a couple of hours with us which was lovely & Elena took photos outside. I always have such a cheesy grin & I think Andrew's trying to smile ROFL.

Lisa PASSED!! She took her theory driving test this morning and she passed ~ how cool is that :O)

Just before I went to work I checked my e-mails. Stan sent 3 more baptisms from St Cross Church in Clayton, including one from my great Grandmother, Lily Horrocks, who had a baby girl in 1906!! Nobody has ever mentioned this to me & to be honest I doubt many people know. I managed to look quickly on freeBMD to see what happened to her & unfortunately she died a few months after she was born :O( So my Grandfather had 2 half sisters (a sister from his Dad's previous marriage) & a sister from his Mum (before she was married) ~ wow!!

The baptism says ~ Elizabeth Keeling Horrocks, baptised 2 May 1906 at St Cross Church, daughter of Lily Horrocks of 336 Clayton Lane, Clayton. 336 Clayton Lane, Clayton was where Lily's sister Clara lived at the time. Clara had had her son baptised at the same church just three months before: Harry Moores, 14 Feb 1906 son of Harry and Clara Moores of 336 Clayton Lane, Clayton.

Births: Elizabeth Keeling Horrocks, Jun qtr 1906, Prestwich R/D
Deaths: Elizabeth Keeling Horrocks, Sep qtr 1906 aged 0, Prestwich R/D

How sad that she had 3 children but only my Grandfather survived infancy.

I went to work this afternoon until 8pm. It's the first of our peak week Saturdays so I'm working most of the weekend for the next six weeks. Andrew took the girls to Woolworths to buy a Wii and everyone was so excited. I knew the Wii would win over a new carpet lol. Since I've been home tonight we've played 10 pin bowling, base ball & tennis, it's great fun :O) Now I'm cream crackered.
