Don't you just love place names on the Isle of Wight lol.
OK, a usual Saturday, Elena went to drama 10 - 1pm so we went to Tescos and spent an absolute fortune. Bought the usual shopping plus enough pizza's, party rings, fun size Haribo & cocktail sausages to feed 120 people at the forthcoming 'Big Bash'. Did lots of washing, stripped the beds etc. etc. lots of boring stuff. This afternoon we (Andrew, Elena, Lisa, Liam & I) went to Cowes, parked on the sea front at Egypt point and walked to Offshore Sports which is quite a way away. The weather was beautiful this morning, sunny, blue sky, slight breeze, warm enough to be without a coat but unfortunately this afternoon, the clouds decided to cover us up like a big grey blanket so we couldn't see either the sky or the sun. Nevermind, we had a lovely walk although I was bit narked because I had forgotten my camera. When we got to Offshore Sports the shop was closed for refurbishment lol! Elena & I had fun though (a case of small things amuse small minds). All along the revetment and footpaths in Cowes are these tiles with pictures of rope knots. Everytime we walked past one either Elena or I would point and say something with 'knot' in it ...
That boat is travelling at a good rate of knots.
No it's not.
I'm watching Notting Hill when I get home.
No your not.
Look at that parking meter, it says it's not in use.
Why not?
Is that a not (hot) dog?
That's not funny.
Mum you've got a knot in your hair
Oh I've not have I?
Tie a knot in your hanky then you won't forget.
Not now.
The list is endless, it went on & on. Elena came up with some cracking sentences and we spent most of the time laughing & giggling, it was great fun. We didn't get any snorkles from Cowes so we called at the sports shop in Shanklin and managed to get Elena a mask & snorkle set for £9.99. We went to Offshore sports a bit further up the road and managed to get Andrew a set for (OMG) £29.99!!! Good job I don't want a set too lol! Edited to say (on 16th June) I finally took a photo of a knot, just for Elena :O)
