Shanklin
One of the jobs today was to go to Shanklin to the Earth, Wind & Water shop to buy Matt a 'Dry Bag' for his birthday. I know I could have given him any bag as along as it was dry but I didn't think he would see the funny side ~ lol! So we parked along Regent Street in Shanklin, where all the shops are and walked down to the far end. We bought him this special bag that seals up and keeps everything dry when you're out sailing. Hope he likes it :O)
On the way back we came across a busker, the music he was playing was really great. We stopped to put some money in the bowl and he asked where my accent was from. Told him Buxton in Derbyshire and he told me this really funny story about a music festival he'd been to in Derby. It had been quite a few years ago and he had had a bit too much to drink. Him and a friend wanted to put up their tent up and after a while found this patch of grass. In the morning they had unzipped the tent to find they had put the flysheet on the wrong way round. They crawled between the gap to get out and when they got to the opening they were shocked. They had put up their tent on one of the roundabouts in Derby ~ ROFL!! After we left him we went to the pic & mix shop!! We adore the sweets from there!! Took a photo of St Pauls' church and headed back to the Nissan.
Didn't want to ask the busker if he would pose for a photo so took this one from inside the Nissan.
Hope he doesn't mind :O) After tea we walked to Shanklin. Walked along the cliff top and down Hope Road. Saw a digger on the beach and wondered if he had just got fed up of using a bucket & spade??!!
Elena wanted to make a 'Sand'wich so we helped by collecting the white stones ~ lol!!

Walked up Lake slip way back home, what a cracking sun set.
A perfect end to a perfect day :O)
