Next weekend is the free Heritage weekend so , last night, Andrew & I went through all the places we could visit and chose what we wanted to do. Last year we went to Bembridge Windmill & the Roman Villa in Brading. This year, we have the whole weekend planned out :O) On Saturday, after we pick Elena up from Drama, and depending on the weather, we hope to take a picnic over to The Needles Old Battery. If we have anytime left we want to go to the church in Shalfleet. Description: The church of St Michael the Archangel at Shalfleet is a Grade I listed, 11th century building. Tours of the church and a chance to climb to the top of its unusually squat Norman tower. Historic records, including registers of births, marriages and burials, will be available. Demonstrations and displays of stone-carving, stained glass etc. Refreshments provided. Discovery trail for children. Sounds cool doesn't it :O)
