The Globe Theatre

Last night, after a very busy few days at work, we drove up to Roehampton.

Today we took the bus & tube into London to visit Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. It was brilliant and our guide, although a bit eccentric, was so passionate about the theatre it was a pleasure to listen to what she had to say. We reached the theatre by the Millennium Bridge, made famous by the recent Harry Potter film :O) At the other end of the bridge stands the magnificent St Paul's Cathedral. After walking around the Globe Theatre Exhibition we were treated to a tour of the theatre itself. They were putting on a play that afternoon so the workers were busy painting the scenery. Sam Wanamaker dedicated his life to rebuilding the Globe and outside in the courtyard are flagstones engraved with the names of him & his family including his famous daughter Zoe. I love London, every inch has been built on in some way and the photo opportunities are endless :O)
