Magic Kingdom

Sunday 24th October

Today was supposed to be real rest & relaxation day, a do nothing day, but we were so excited about what we had seen so far Andrew suggested we visit Magic Kingdom. The plan was to visit Fantasy Land and do all the rides there as well as watch the celebration parade in the afternoon.

We paid the $14 to park the car & caught the tram to the boats & monorail. We chose to take the monorail to the entrance and after having our bag searched & tickets & fingerprints scanned we walked up main street. It was all decked out in Halloween decorations which just made you smile.
After looking around the shops & at all the other wonderful stuff we walked into Fantasy Land taking photos along the way of Cinderella's Castle & fountain.
The first ride we went on was Snow White & then sat down to watch Mickey's Philharmagic. Both were really enjoyable. The exit to each ride/show takes you through a shop (very clever marketing!) The decorations in the shops were just as good as outside.
Donald (who we had just watched in Philarmagic) was hanging from the ceiling in one of them.
Gemma had her photo taken with Mary Poppins.
I dragged everyone on It's a Small World (for old times sake) kicking a screaming lol, before watching the 'Dream Along with Mickey' show outside Cinderella's Castle.
The queue for the Peter Pan ride (Gemma's favourite) was too long so we got fastpasses & moved onto the Haunted Mansion. I love this ride & so did Elena. Outside was a stall selling Nightmare Before Christmas stuff which Elena LOVES!
We took the Riverboat from Liberty Square,
passing Big Thunder Mountain which was our next stop.
The 3 brave ones rode the roller coaster and then got wet through on the Splash Mountain.
We watched the afternoon parade from Liberty Square
and then wandered into Adventure Land to look at the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House.
Took a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean
and then the Safari Ride.
By then the park was closing so wandered back up Main Street to collect the packages of things we had bought during the day. We got back to the car just after 6pm & it was still hot outside.
We had tea at Olive Garden which was delicious
& then went to Wallmart for essential provisions like Doritos & more Lucky Charms :O)

Weather ... Hot & sunny with highs of 30 degrees.
