Share & Share Alike

Well, we are a family that tries to share everything, good times, bad times, sweets, chocolate, love, car journeys, you get the picture ~ lol. Well one of my little rays of sunshine Elena, has shared her flippin' cold with me ~ poop! I'm just feeling sorry for myself really but it just had to happen didn't it. That's the price you pay for hugs & cuddles when someone you love's not well :O) It's OK, I can live on Ibuprofen for a couple of days & then everything will be alright.

We were woken up this morning at something silly o'clock, by one of those very annoying 'beep' sounds. You know those intermittent ones that drive you mad and you lay there tying to listen for it again to work out what it is. Well after the 3rd or 4th beep I decided it was too frequent to be one of the 3 smoke alarms we have, so we got out of bed and Andrew went downstairs and I listened upstairs. Anyway, it was Elena's phone!! It needed charging :O)

Picked the Nissan up this morning from the garage and the door has been repaired. What a great job they made of it too. It was so nice to drive it home :O)

That's it really apart from 4 loads of washing, cleaning bathrooms etc. Ooo apart from spending some money this week on a new 10' pool. Ours seems to have a very slow leak in it and couldn't find where it was when we took it down. So we ordered a new one which comes with a pump (so we will have a spare one) for the bargain price of £9.99!!

The Red Arrows

Today's the first Saturday since July I haven't had to work and what a fab day we've had :O) Elena's back at drama so we dropped her off on Grafton Street for 10am. We took Lisa to Ryde for her Grade 5 singing exam but, poor thing, she is suffering with a sore throat. Not sure she should have been singing really but she was determined not to miss it. Andrew & I did the food shopping at our favourite shop ~ Tesco. When we got back we started to empty the pool ready for it's winter storage. Had lunch etc. and then went down to Yaverland to watch the Red Arrows. OMG they make me go all goosepimpley. I LOVE the Red Arrows, they are Britain at it's best!!! I remember being on holiday on the Island with my Mum & Dad in 1976. I know it was 1976 because it was the summer that everyone talks about. It was the hottest, longest summer ever :O) We camped at Whitecliff Bay and one day, whilst playing in the sand, the Red Arrows flew over and did an air display. Everyone was cheering and clapping and my Dad told us he had ordered them just for me and my brother. I was only 12 and of course believed every word he told me ~ lol! Well today, I still felt the same way watching them. Standing on the beach in amazement at their skill. Do you know they fly at 400 mph and they are only 20 feet apart!! OMG!!! How clever are these pilots!! I love the noise of the planes as they fly past and always gasp as they fly toward each other willing them not to crash. They are amazing!!! We were watching them so intently that we didn't realise the tide was coming in ROFL. I had taken my sandals off but look at poor Andrew :O) Now you see him ... Now you don't ROFLMAO ... Gemma was down at the yacht club so we had a ride back home with her :O) We finished emptying the pool and washed it ready to put away. We laughed and messed about so much, even Andrew told us a joke ~ lol ~ what has 2 legs & flies? A pair of trousers :O)

Pool Cleaner Extraodinaire :O)

It's lovely and warm today :O) Beautiful blue skies & sunshine. Seagulls & the Spitfire flying over head. Andrew's in the garden cleaning out the pool so everyone can have a swim when they get home from work & drama. He's improvised and made a pool cleaning kit from a paint roller attached to a pole, a kids fishing net and some bits from the vax machine :O) He is such a sweetie and I love him to bits! Just look at the colour of this cornflower ~ wow! And the little pansies have been flowering since early spring :O) Well I'm off to work at 2pm, another big change over day. Hope everyone will be in a better mood now the sun's shinning :O)

Paddling Pool

Guess what Andrew & Elena have been doing whilst I've been at work?? Go on guess!! Putting up the pool. One day of nice weather and they think it's summer!! Well, not really, I think it's because Claire's coming next week ~ lol!! The pool had a really small hole in it last year so that's been mended. They've pumped it up and got all the creases out of the bottom but Elena, being a daft bat decided to fall in and test how cold the water was ~ lol!! It's still being filled now with the hosepipe. Andrew's friend Mick (from Porchfield) lent us some rubber matting to put underneath to stop it getting any more holes and to try and give it a bit more insulation. I can't wait for the weather to be hot enough to make us want to get in it :O) Last night Lisa & Liam went out for a night on the town dressed as sailors!! It was all in aid of Lizzies 18th birthday. We eat tea outside tonight as the sun is out ~ yipee!! Took a photo of the girls lying on the grass, God aren't they gorgeous!! And this little fella is our first ripe strawberry of the year!! Elena on the trampoline :O) Billy Elliott, eat your heart out ~ lol!!
